It's been building in my head for some time since watching that video of Los Angeles police officers beating a black man. But I think I've got it now. I think I have the solution for ending racism in America.
Video cameras.
Think about it. All that we, as African-Americans, have had for centuries have been our eyes and our words to play back the many things we have experienced as a racial minority in America. We have seen much, and said much. Yet rarely has our word been good enough to stand alone.
No one believed us when we spoke of the horrors of slavery. No one believes us when we speak of the horrors of racism. …
