Teenage Cinderellas get a little help with prom finery

High school prom season is just around the corner and that can mean big bucks for the families of high school students who are looking forward to the event of the school year.

Prom dressing for young ladies can run about $500, not including accessories, according to Dorian Carter, co-founder of the Glass Slipper Project, which has provided fairy tale looks for girls in Chicago Public Schools for seven years.

Carter's day job boss is Arne Duncan, the executive officer of CPS. He's definitely in favor of his executive assistant's philanthropic endeavor.
