NSW: Killer who escaped jail to slay again escapes life sentence

SYDNEY, Feb 26 AAP - A convicted killer who fell in love with a woman while behindbars, then escaped and murdered her in a chilling replay of his first killing, has beenspared a life sentence.
Daniel Leslie Miles, 29, was jailed today for at least 21 years for the murder of VolandeMichael at Sefton, western Sydney, on August 1, 1999 - nine years after killing his childhoodsweetheart.
Miles had escaped the John Moroney correctional centre and found Ms Michael - who hadbeen helping him in prison to develop his musical talent - in bed with a lover.
