FRESHMAN'S GOAL BAILS OUT RPI.(SPORTS)

TROY -- The big sticks on the RPI hockey team were silent Friday night. There were no goals or points from the likes of Matt Murley or Marc Cavosie or Nolan Graham.

Those three have combined for 44 goals and 87 points this year.

But there was still joy at Houston Field House. Freshman Conrad Barnes bailed out the Engineers, scoring the game's only goal as RPI edged Princeton, 1-0.

Barnes' goal, just the second of his career, came at 9:08 of the third period and enabled RPI to get a badly needed pair of Eastern College Athletic Conference points. The Engineers (14-11-2, 8-7-2) now have 18 points and are in …
