NSW: Fires rage in Hunter Valley and Shoalhaven areas

SYDNEY, Jan 2 AAP - Firefighters are struggling to contain a blaze in wetlands near
Jervis Bay on the New South Wales south coast.

NSW Rural Fire Service spokesman Cameron Wade said a helicopter was helping 70 firefighters
battle the blaze, 10km north-west of Huskisson.

"The dry grass is burning on the top of the wetlands," Mr Wade said.

"So there is difficulty getting fire tanks in to put out the fire," he said.

The blaze, believed to be deliberately lit, at Currambene Creek, has already burnt
120ha of land since it started …
